"The truth is, is that I am not much different than you.
Sure, I have helped thousands of couples. But I also understand what it feels like to feel alone, to feel abandoned, and to feel unloved.
My journey into this work started early. My own parents broke up when I was 3. From 3 to 18, I moved 28 times, attended 18 schools, and lived all across Canada. During those years, I had five stepfathers and got a close look at what makes love, and what breaks love.
Because I had little stability in my childhood, it meant that I struggled a lot in life with feelings of anxiety and depression. I wasn't always a good wife. And sadly, I didn't realize that I was bringing all my emotional trauma into my marriage. How? By overreacting. By not hearing complaints. By not knowing how to give and receive love in a healthy way.
I knew that I had to save my own marriage. And I become obsessed with it.
I spent the next 22 years studying communication, attachment, love, and forgiveness. I have dedicated my life so that others can save their own marriages.
Because I have seen over and over again, they can!
I Recognized That I Have Always Been Able To Help Others...
...and so 7 years ago, I opened my own practice, called The Couples Clinic in Ontario Canada. My Mission was to teach couples the simple skills and tools to learn how to effectively communicate. How to fix attachment. How to make and hear complaints. How to let go of resentments. And how to forgive. Because yes... forgiveness is a skill that can be taught.
And now I am taking this program public, so that other couples can learn how to save their own relationship. My new venture is 1 Million Marriages Saved. I do it because I know what heals pain...It is love. It's always been love. But most people do not know how to give and receive it."
